Lingenfelter Unveils Production LTA, its Pontiac Trans Am-Inspired Camaro Tune at SEMA Show

|

Back in 2009, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) become one of the many independent shops at the time to capitalize on the approaching death of the Pontiac brand byreleasing a concept model inspired by the 1970s Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am and based on the then brand new Chevrolet Camaro.Fast forward to today and the 2012 SEMA Showin Las Vegas, Lingenfelter unwrapped the production version of its T/A Concept that will be known from now own as the LTA.
"Due to overwhelming response after displaying conceptual versions of the LTA at previous SEMA Shows and other events, Lingenfelter has decided to take the car to production," said Ken Lingenfelter, founder and owner of LPE.
Lingenfelter pointed out that while similar, there are many differences between the concept and the limited production version of the Camaro-based model.
"We've taken the time to re-design this car, to re-create factory features and enhance each aspect of the vehicle, from new taillights to a re-designed deck lid and wheels," he explained. "We aren't selling individual parts and components for our customers to create this car on their own; we're delivering a complete, finished vehicle that's been re-done inside and out."
The Lingenfelter LTA will be offered in three different grades, with the flagship Level 3 LTA being fitted with a 455-cubic inch (7.5-liter) LS V8 engine that delivers a potent 655-horses to the rear wheels.
Other upgrades that are included in this package are the LPE/Kooks Headers with high flow converters, an LPE/CORSA Performance cat-back exhaust, Brembo Brakes, 20x9.5 and 20x11 Honeycomb Wheels with powder coated centers and a custom interior that also harks back to the 1970s Pontiac muscle car.
Lingenfelter has not yet announced pricing on the LTA.
